Canine Influenza

This is a highly contagious virus that causes respiratory illness in dogs.

Recommended for: All dogs and puppies 12 weeks of age or older who have any contact with other dogs or visit facilities where other dogs frequent. Examples are boarding kennels, dog parks, puppy classes, or even the pet store. Required by most boarding facilities. At JVC, our vaccine protects against both known strains of dog flu, H3N2 & H3N8.

Zoonotic disease (contagious to humans): Little risk at this time. H3N2 could have the potential to mutate to have the ability to infect humans.

Initial vaccine and one booster in 3-4 weeks, then annual booster
